Spacesaver Cut to length and Blanking lines manufactured at the Formtek Maine facility, produce uniform shear blanks of varying lengths while minimizing scrap. Producing high quality blanks in house can often generate rapid paybacks versus buying blanks.  Spacesaver Cut to length lines help to reduce inventory and are ideal for Just-In-Time (JIT) manufacturing. Our Spacesaver Cut to Length Lines, also known as Compact Blanking Lines, and Spacesaver Shear Lines can be designed for any combination of material, coil weight, and thickness.

30,000 Lb. coils up to .437" thickness can be processed on this 42" wide Compact/ Spacesaver Cut to Length Line. This SpaceSaver Cut to Length line features a Combination Cradle Straightener-Feeder to processes blanks on demand to supply material to lasers. The control system receives information via feed length download. The line then feeds the appropriate lengths and cuts material. Pinch rolls close on staging conveyor and cut material is staged on conveyor until traveling car (not shown) picks up blanks. Automated system allows for thick, high yield material to be processed in "Auto Run Mode" without operator assistance.

Rugged, 60" x .187" x 25,000 lb. Compact Cut to Length Line features a space-saving, combination straightener-feeder and heavy duty threading system that significantly reduces set-up time by aiding the operator in threading the leading edge of thick (up to .250") coils and high yield materials. This line incorporates an optional Bar Code Reader that can be used to scan the job paperwork or coil barcode and with this data automatically select the job parameters in the control.
